Moana Nui Wear began with one inspiration—my mother.

Growing up in Tuvalu, I watched her transform simple pieces of fabric into beautiful garments. Without formal training, she created with remarkable skill, guided by creativity, resourcefulness, and an understanding of the people she made them for. She taught me that clothing is never just something we wear. It is identity. It is heritage. It is a story that travels with us.

Although my own journey led me in a different direction, the lessons she shared never left me.

Moana Nui Wear was founded to honour her legacy and the spirit of the Pacific that shaped us both.

The Pacific is more than where we come from. It is how we move through the world.

For generations, our ancestors crossed the world’s largest ocean guided by the stars, the winds, and the currents. They carried knowledge, courage, and respect for nature from island to island. Those same values continue to inspire every collection we create today.

Designed in New Zealand, Moana Nui Wear celebrates the beauty of Pacific heritage through contemporary apparel that is thoughtful, timeless, and made with purpose. Every design reflects a connection to our ocean, our culture, and our responsibility to care for both. By embracing made-to-order production and more sustainable materials whenever possible, we choose to create with intention rather than excess.
